With both, the idea is that you need some kind of plan. The letters were written by Daniel Lehrer who has had more than 12 years experience in marketing, having worked for direct marketing, public relations and advertising agencies. 20. Business Writer - This is a collection of different letter types covering most situations and just about any contingency. You name it and the letter is probably there from a database of 450 different letter types. Subjects covered are advertising, agents, auditors, bank, board minutes and statements, company documents, customers, employment, lawyers, marketing and many more. While you would be unlikely to find a letter that fits your needs exactly they will provide the bones to work on and are easily modified to suit your needs. The letters are designed to cover all contingencies for a particular situation and help you make sure that all bases are covered. All you have to do is change the wording to reflect your situation while maintaining the overall context. Business Planner - When you start to pour your hard earned savings into a small business to boost your retirement income, it is vitally important that you have a business plan to make sure everything stays on track. Too many businesses go under simply because their owners do not analyse the situation and prospects well enough and plan their strategy accordingly. Business Planner sets out to help you analyse, plan your business and then bring your hopes to fruition. It carefully steps you through four phases, analysis, objectives, strategies and tactics and finally implementation, control and evaluation of your prospects. As you move through the sections of this planner you will be provided with all section headings for your plan and with prompts to help you choose the best entries under those headings. Each Section Help describes what information or data you should consider putting in that section. This package is designed to lead you through each aspect of setting up a business plan and makes every effort to provide you with as much help as possible to achieve this. Without actually working through a mythical business that I might set up it is difficult to really assess fully this package but in the time I spent with it I was impressed with the amount of detail that has gone into producing Business Planner. For the uninitiated starting up a business I would consider this a good starting point as considerable effort has gone into making this package as user friendly as it is possible to get when dealing with a subject like this. When you could be planning on investing thousands of dollars in your new business this package could be a good investment at RRP $149.95. Business Planner - SOHO Software's Business Planner is a nifty program designed to help you draw up a comprehensive business plan, taking into account all aspects of running a business and every external influence likely to affect it. The end result is a document capable of informing investors, financiers and staff about how you expect it to perform. Because Business Planner supports DDE, you can cut and paste from other documents straight into the Business Planner word processor, giving you considerable flexibility about the material you choose to include in the plan. In-built spreadsheet facilities make it easy to incorporate tables, spreadsheets and graphs. All in all, a valuable piece of software for the beginner in business that will also serve the purposes of many veterans looking to draw up plans for new ventures. 15. Business Planner - The beauty of the SOHO Business Planner software for management is that any plan created can be reviewed, changed, or adjusted very easily and with the punch of a few buttons. One of the most outstanding feature of the SOHO Business Planner package is that it is concise and saves time. Instead of bombarding the planner with questions, many of which are irrelevant to a particular business, it attracts the planner’s attention to the different issues by using ‘introductory sentences’ or ‘keywords’. Those ‘introductory sentences’ that are irrelevant can simply be deleted, and what is left is a concise plan and one that is straight to the point. If the plan is not concise or straight to the point, the key employees, financiers, and investors will simply not have the time to read it or will skim over it, missing important issues, and so making the most important tool of the business, the plan, both useless and a waste of time. Crucial to the SOHO Business Planner package is the documentation that comes with it. Again SOHO is to be commended for the construction of the booklet that comes with it. 11. Business Planner - SOHO's Business Planner for Windows is an excellent tool for creating a business plan. It takes the "where do I start" out of what can be a laborious task. Having written business plans manually, I can honestly say that SOHO's Business Planner would be a great asset to any business wanting to prepare a business plan. 9. 125 Business to Business Letters - The look and feel of Microsoft Access is most evident in this program. A comprehensive list of categories is displayed on the left side of the screen. Simply click on the plus sign beside the category required and a list of sub categories displays. Click on the plus sign beside the sub category required an a list of the sample letters is available. These sample letters cover everything from "Announcing the change of account manager" to "Terminating a Supplier". The sample letter selected can be edited and saved for referencing later. Insertion fields can be set up to automatically add the business name, address etc. The word processor is comprehensive enough to do the job for the user or the text can be exported to another word processor. This program would suite a business that did not want to spend time creating its own letters. The wording used in each letter is well chosen so as to get the message across in a clear and concise manner however letters can be changed to suit the individual needs of the user. 7. 125 Legal Letters and Agreements - Writing legal letters and agreements can be an awesome task for businesses. It is so important to get the wording right. Failure to do so can cause further problems and may be costly. I particularly found the "Board Minutes and Statements" and "Company Documents" categories comprehensive and useful. As a former small business person I find the idea behind Business Writer - to provide a wide range of pre written letters on a plethora of topics - very appealing. The letters are great and would save any business person hours of time that would normally be spent drafting them.... Then you will really impress your clients and colleagues. Business Writer - There is an art in preparing professional looking documents, the problem is that small business or home office operator, the time invested is creating these documents could be better spent on activities that will earn them extra cash for the business. The unfortunate result is that because resources are stretched, the documents used end up appearing a little less professional than they should. First impressions last, and if written correspondence is going to be your first point of contact with your bank manager, for instance, it will pay in more ways than one if your letter comes across in a highly professional manner.
