FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES
A. GENERAL DEFINITIONS
1. Full-time Personnel - employees who are paid a defined Annual Salary and who
work a minimum of [NUMBER] hours per week.
2. Calendar Month: is from the first day to the last day (inclusive) of the month.
3. Calendar Year - is from 01 January to 31 December (inclusive).
4. Holiday Year - is from 01 January to 31 December (inclusive).
5. All pay adjustments and part months worked are computed as follows:
(Annual Salary x number of Business Days worked in a Calendar Month)/260
where 260 = the number of Business Days in a Calendar Year.
6. Business Day - any day falling between Monday and Friday (inclusive).
B. ANNUAL HOLIDAYS AND COMPUTATION OF PART MONTHS
1. Holiday entitlement is calculated pro-rata for complete calendar months, based
upon the full annual entitlement of four weeks (20 working days).
2. Employees leaving the Company will be entitled to holiday entitlement calculated
on a pro-rata basis for complete Calendar Months based upon the full annual
entitlement of four weeks (20 working days).
3. The Company will normally honour holiday commitments already made when joining
the Company.
4. In the case of a holiday commitment which the Company agrees to honour but
which is greater than the holiday entitlement, a salary adjustment will be made.
5. Statutory Public Holidays, which are published in line with Government Policy,
are in addition to the above entitlement.
6. At the end of the holiday year, any untaken holiday entitlement cannot be carried
forward to the next calendar year. Therefore, ensure you use all of your holiday
entitlement before 31 December each year.
C. SICK LEAVE
1.The Company's calendar year for sick days runs from 01 January to 31 December
(inclusive).
2. During the first twelve months of employment the maximum number of sick days
allowable per employee is five.
3. For subsequent years the maximum number of sick days allowable per employee is
eight.
D. GRIEVANCE PROCEDURE
An employee who wishes to raise any issue in which he or she is involved should first
refer it, either in person or in writing, to the General Manager. If the problem is not
resolved then the employee should refer it, in writing, to the majority Shareholder or
his designate.
E. TRADE UNION MEMBERSHIP
1. The Company affirms the right of any employee to belong to a registered trade
union of his/her choice and to take part in its activities.
2. Equally, it affirms the employee's right not to be a member of a registered trade
union or other organisation of workers.
